My Dance!
Nearly 5 years ago i had this workshop from SDIPA in my school. i still remember being in 9th std and the workshop was on the 3rd floor classroom. 3 instructors were there to conduct the small introduction class. The first thing they said that no books are allowed. haha. That day probably was the finest day of my life.
just few days before this workshop i saw this film called 'bunty aur babli' and in the song Nach Baliye, Shiamak was featured(as it was his choreography). I literally did not know who is that guy singing round round round..Haha
and at the day of the workshop the instructor asked us the signature step for nach baliye and then it clicked me that it was Shiamak i saw that day in the movie. Probably that was the beginning of my Dance life. i just came back home and asked my dad that whether I can join these classes or not. He immediately said yes and then there was no looking back. I still remember my beginners’ batch at Janak Puri with instructors Deeba and Darshan and we performed on 'Chodh do Aanchal' song. :) December 2005 for the first time I performed on stage in front of an audience. And just few minutes before my performance i sprained my leg...haha though I completed my show and it was the best feeling ever. it was surprising to realise that I was not nervous at all. : D that was when i gathered that i am meant to dance and it is the only thing in this whole world which can give me ultimate happiness. During this batch only I got selected for my first audition for Melbourne CWG closing ceremony act which was being choreographed by Shiamak. Of course i did not get selected as it was my first encounter towards an audition and that too in front of Shiamak himself. it was funny, I still remember that disastrous audition.. haha we only freaked out. lol
but anyway. Auditions are always a benefit, u gain confidence.
Then after that of course there was no stop. Batch after batch, performance after performance, all was just like a dream.
And then Vijay’s july batch where I had 4 instructors (one of them took my workshop back in school).
That was probably my best batch ever. Vijay is the sweetest person on this earth. He made me feel like a star. Got split center position boosted my confidence like camel. Ha-ha. May be it required. Okay now I better stop because I can go on and on with Vijay... Ha-ha.
Then around 2007 or 08 I got selected in the “Special Potential Batch”... Everyone in SDIPA dreamt of being in SPB. So as me probably but I wasn’t craving to get selected for this batch like others.
To be Continued .....
